Core Practice

Residential Landscape Architecture

Full service landscape architecture for private estates and homes across South Florida, from first survey to the day the last tree is set.

A private landscape is the most lived in room of a South Florida home, yet it is the one most often left to chance. Canopy approaches residential grounds the way an architect approaches a building: with a plan, a hierarchy of spaces, and a clear idea of how light, water, and movement will behave across a site over decades.

Led by Florida Registered Landscape Architect Louis Vlahos, our residential practice covers the full arc of a project. We begin with the land itself, its grade, its drainage, its exposure to salt and storm, and we stay through construction administration, so the design you approve is the landscape that gets built.

What a residential engagement includes

  • Site analysis, survey coordination, and grading and drainage strategy
  • Master planning of arrival sequence, gardens, pool surrounds, and outdoor rooms
  • Planting design built around native and Florida friendly species
  • Hardscape, lighting, and irrigation design coordinated with your architect and builder
  • Construction documents, permitting support, and on site construction administration

How we work

Every project moves through four unhurried phases: discovery, concept, documentation, and delivery. You see the plan before anything is planted, and we protect the design intent all the way to installation, often in partnership with Delray Garden Center, our trusted installation and maintenance partner.
